Yana Gorskaya
Director of Photography, Co-Adaptor, Co-Producer, Editor
is a writer, director and documentary editor whose editing credits include Spellbound, the Academy-nominated documentary which follows eight children from all over the country on their way to the National Spelling Bee, Friendly House, a look at the first and most successful drug rehabilitation home for women in the United States, and In the Name of Love, an exploration of Russian marriage agencies. She received her B.A. from Columbia University, Magna Cum Laude, and her M.F.A. from the University of Southern California Graduate School of Cinema-TV with numerous honors. Originally from Russia, Yana met and married her wonderkind French husband in New York.

 

Sharon Mareeka Lewis
Original Writer, Co-Adaptor, Actress (Creation Woman)
has appeared in films, television, and theatre across the globe. Her role as the D. J. Rude in the filmRude took her to Cannes and across Europe. She is the co-author of the published play, Sistahs, and continues to act, write, and direct.

Mo Jen
Composer
is a unique film composer whose style has been described as "eclectic electro-acoustic." She blends organic and electronic instruments to create textural soundscapes to support visual media. Her resume consists of work on major, independent, and student films, including source and soundtrack material forStrange Days (20th Century Fox, 1995), and the score for the independent release The Second Room(Montivagus Productions, 1994). Mo Jen is endorsed by Emagic, Inc., and is a VIP user of Logic Audio Platinum. Her studio, located in downtown Los Angeles, features a complete recording facility for both live and electronic instruments.

 

Fumi
Actress (Grandmother)
is a Jamaican-born actress and a veteran of the theatre. She started out her television career inRoots, The Next Generation opposite James Earle Jones. She is a drama coach, primarily theatrical director, and writer. Currently, she is hoping to get an option on two of her screenplays, The Colors of Love and In Due Time. She loves being in the "arts" but she functions from the "art" within her.

 

Sydni Beaudoin
Actress (Granddaughter)
is 9 years old and was born in San Diego, CA. She started acting at the age of 5 and made her movie debut co-starring as Cyan in the feature film Spawn. She has since been on several television commercials including Barbie, UPS, and Genus. Sydni is active in the Children's Theatre Network in Torrance, CA. She has worked on Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Oliver, and Grease. In addition to performing, Sydni loves all the activities and friends at school, reading, swimming, singing, and listening to her favorite CDs.

 

Lia Johnson
Actress (Creation Woman)
received her B.A. from Columbia University in New York City. She performed in numerous productions including The Pecking Order, The Maids, and For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf at the famous Apollo Theatre in Harlem. Her television credits include All My Children. She has appeared in several independent films including Divided We Stand, which was awarded 2nd Place at the Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame, and The Sasquatch Hunters.
